Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton thrilled home fans by setting the fastest lap during Friday’s free practice at the Silverstone Circuit. He narrowly beat fellow Brit Lando Norris, setting the stage for an exciting British Grand Prix weekend.
Hamilton posted a stunning lap time of 1:26.327 in the afternoon session, with Norris just 0.102 seconds behind in his McLaren. It was a close battle that delighted the packed grandstands.
“It’s always special to drive at Silverstone. The support here gives you an extra boost,” Hamilton said. “The car felt great today, but there’s still work to do for qualifying.”
