Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses global conflicts, energy concerns, and water conservation efforts during the 132nd episode of Mann Ki Baat.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the 132nd edition of his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat on Sunday at around 11:00 AM, addressing key global and national issues.

During his speech, the Prime Minister drew attention to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, highlighting the uncertainty and instability affecting several regions worldwide. He noted that March has witnessed a number of significant global developments, reminding citizens of the prolonged challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Modi stated that although the world had hoped for a fresh start and steady progress following the pandemic, conflicts and wars continue to disrupt global stability. He emphasized that a major conflict has been unfolding for over a month in regions close to India’s neighborhood, where millions of Indians live and work, particularly in Gulf countries.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Gulf nations for their continued support and assistance to over 10 million Indian citizens residing there. He also pointed out that the conflict zone plays a crucial role in meeting global energy demands, which has led to concerns over petrol and diesel supply disruptions.

Highlighting India’s preparedness, Modi said the country is leveraging its strong international relations and capabilities developed over the past decade to tackle these challenges effectively. He reassured citizens that unity and collective strength will help the nation overcome this difficult period.

Shifting focus to domestic issues, the Prime Minister spoke about the onset of summer and stressed the importance of water conservation. He called upon citizens to renew their commitment to saving water, noting that nationwide awareness campaigns over the past eleven years have yielded significant results.

According to him, around 5 million water harvesting structures have been developed across the country, contributing to improved water management. He also praised grassroots-level initiatives being carried out in villages to address water scarcity.

Additionally, Modi highlighted the success of the ‘Amrit Sarovar’ initiative, under which approximately 70,000 water bodies have been created nationwide, further strengthening India’s water conservation efforts.
